An isolated peak in the pyroclastic flow plateau
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, a huge mountain stood on this site. When Aso erupted, most of it was buried in pyroclastic flow, leaving only the tip that is visible today. The surrounding pyroclastic flow plateau is clearly visible from this geosite.
